These three paintings, Winter’s Veil, Midnight Dive and Frozen Twilight are part of a group I created in November 2023 and are a reflection of my experiences at a nearby pond where I engage in open water swimming.
Amidst the challenges of swimming in winter, the experience becomes uniquely rewarding. The absence of summer crowds lends a sense of solitude to the wintry waters, creating an environment of peaceful tranquility. The winter light, distinct from that of summer, casts a cool hue over the landscape that evokes a sense of melancholy, yet it holds a beauty of its own.
